Arched walls are known to man almost since the beginning of human civilization. Once built mainly in public buildings or homes of prominent persons, today they are more and more popular in the broadly defined housing. This is inter alia due to the ease in their putting, thanks to, inter alia, availability of construction materials, which are perfect for this type of construction. In the case of external walls, cellular concrete and standard bricks are used for putting up the arched walls. Brick and concrete are both durable and easy to work with, so to obtain the desired arched shape of the wall is not that difficult. One should only remember about drawing or designating the appropriate curve on the ground, as well as appropriate placement of vertical joints (they should not be placed directly under or over each other). Although the principles of construction of such walls are similar to principles of putting up straight wall, for obvious reasons, it is a little more complicated structure. This is due to the need for proper vertical pointing, having different thickness at both edges of the wall. For the interior, the best choice is the glass block or plasterboard. Glass blocks can be connected in a traditional way, with the use of the joint, u-joints and vertical reinforcement as well as with special mounting strips filled with mortar. Internal walls made of plasterboard are simple in installation, because they are placed on a special semi-circular racks. Thanks to its structure and light weight they can be placed as small partition wall inside any living space.
